DRC is a 100% volunteer organization so we appreciate everyone who donates their time to make this race a reality!
Here are some of the duties that are needed leading up to the race and race day! There is something for those that plan to run and for those that want to help out during the race.
Pre-race Packet Pick-Up - We need volunteers for Thursday, April 25th and Friday, April 26th for packet pick-up at a yet to be determined location (most likely Run On! or Luke's in Dallas). We need at least 2 people per shift at each location, a couple of extras during lunch and right after work. Thursday and Friday shifts are 9:30 am to 1 pm, 1 to 4 pm, and 4 to 7 pm. Please register for the specific shifts/locations you prefer.
Friday Evening Load-in – Arrive at 6 p.m. at the DRC Clubhouse located at 1130 Beachview St. Need 10 people to load race day gear into a truck. Takes about an hour.
Race Day Registration/Packet Pick-Up – 10-12 people to work from 6-8 a.m. on race day to help with registration and packet pick-up.
Start/Finish - The Start Line venue can be overwhelming, so we need outgoing, helpful volunteers to assist with runner/walker line up prior to the start of the event and cheer on runner/walkers as they return to the finish line. Crowd control is also needed to keep runners/walkers moving into the event site after crossing the finish line.
Water Stations – 10-12 people at each of the three water stations on the course. Work water station area prepping, restocking and distributing water and sports drink to runners/walkers. This duty also includes cleanup and break down boxes and collection of trash bags. Groups that register to work a water station can also brand/theme their stations (to a reasonable degree).
5 & 10 Mile Turn Arounds - Great for those who want to be on-course and cheer on the race participants!
Refreshments - Race Crew Volunteers are needed to set up and distribute food and beverages to
participants after the race.
Awards – Race Crew volunteers are needed to help organize and hand out the awards.
Volunteer Check in - Check in volunteers, register/assign new volunteers, distribute volunteer t-shirts and guide volunteers to their shift location.
Break Down - Break down event site, including tables, chairs, signage and supplies. Race Crew needed to go to the DRC Clubhouse at 1130 Beachview St. to help unload the race gear.
If you are willing to volunteer multiple days, just note your availability in the comments section when you register to volunteer.
Note: This is a registration to volunteer, not for the race. To register for the race, go back to the calendar and select race registration.
